How Dacia Key Systems Work by Generation
A Dacia key has two parts that must both match the car. The blade is cut to the locks, and the transponder chip in the head is registered to the immobiliser. Dacia arrived in the UK in 2013, so every UK Dacia uses one of two chip families, and the family decides how a Dacia key is coded and what it costs.
Philips ID46 keys sit in the first Duster, sold in the UK from 2013 to 2017, and in imported first generation Logans and Sanderos. These remote head keys use the VA2 blade, cut to code at the vehicle through our car key cutting service. Older chip keys like these are handled by our transponder key programming service, usually in well under an hour.
Hitag AES keys cover the second Sandero and Logan from 2013, the second Duster from 2018, and every Dacia since, including the third Sandero, the Jogger, the Spring, the third Duster and the Bigster.
